Fool the eye, but the heart will know

Tromps l'oeil is something I've started to work on some time ago & I plan to do more. The necklace above came to mind now because I am finally ready to mail 3 hand-written letters to 3 very dear friends.
Every time I send letters like this I want to be present (but invisible) when they get them. But then if they get emotional about what I wrote, being there would be a bit like spying & I don't want to do that. Knowing that I made them happy, that I made their day, would be enough.
